Ahh, Music

Oh how I love music. Ken recently found a wonderful website called Pandora that allows you to select the groups of music you enjoy and play only that music. I have been quite busy and a little stressed as of late and I have been thriving on some of the most beautiful piano solos. It is amazing how music can feed your soul. What a beautiful gift we have been given, beautiful music to enjoy and the blessing of ears to hear.

  3. You guys just discovered that site? Sorry that we didn't share it with you a long time ago. I also just love sticking in a type of music that I'm in the mood to hear and just listen. It's awesome.

  4. One thing that makes me really happy is when I see a string of connection to the past.

My mom used to wander around singing bits of operas she loved at random.

Mom and Dad played beautiful music every evening as they sat and talked long into the nights after dinner.

Mom's dad was a singer who was renowned for his beautiful voice; he sang in restaurants as he began to eke out his manner of making a living. He became famous in New Orleans though not financially successful and I think he dropped singing as part of his performances.

Dad's aunt was an opera singer and was invited to sing at the Met. I don't know the extent of her performances but I think they were all local because she was required to refuse the Met as her mother considered it vulgar and "low class." I found out from my brother that Aunt Shirley loved negroe spirituals as I do.

Uncle Ellis still performs in a singing group and it is really, really good.

My sister Shirley was known for her pretty singing voice at her ward.

And you love music and have a beautiful operatic voice too.

    Interesting family line, eh?
